Why Live Sessions Change Everything
Tutors who run regular webinars report significantly higher student satisfaction scores and better course completion rates. There is something irreplaceable about the energy of a live session — the spontaneity, the direct questions, the shared experience of learning together in real time.
Before the Webinar: Preparation
- Define one clear learning objective for the session — what will attendees know or be able to do by the end?
- Prepare a simple slide deck or visual aid — even 5–10 slides help structure the conversation
- Test your camera, microphone, and internet connection the day before
- Promote the session to your enrolled students and on social media at least 3 days in advance
During the Webinar: Engagement
Start by welcoming attendees as they join — acknowledge them by name if you can. Open with a brief agenda so people know what to expect. Leave at least 10–15 minutes at the end for live Q&A. Encourage questions in the chat throughout, and address them as naturally as possible — it makes the session feel like a conversation, not a lecture.
After the Webinar: Follow-Through
Share the recording with students who couldn't attend live. If you collected questions you didn't have time to answer, write a follow-up post or send a message addressing them. Consider scheduling a recurring monthly webinar — consistency builds an audience.
